Match Report

 VEN-CHI X ODESUR Games – South American Championship - DAY 3
“Full stadium, happy hearts” for tournament hosts
Once again, Manquehue Club put on its best finery to receive the South American
Championship host team. Chile national team faced Venezuela, in a very hard-fought first half.
Both teams showed a fully offensive play. More than 15 minutes passed before the local team
could break the defense of their opponent, scoring twice. However, Venezuela would not be
easily defeated, and Yamileth Pargas scored a field goal some minutes later. By half time the
result was a tight 2-1 in favor of the local team.
The pace of the game absolutely changed during the second half. Chile national team came
back at full strength to claim a victory that would leave them nearer to the finals. On its side,
Venezuela could not take advantage of the few attack situations they could create during the
second half, and Chile would demonstrate its superiority conclusively. “Las Diablas” closed the
game when Manuela Urroz scored in the minute 69th. Chile won the game and still remains
undefeated. Final score was 7-1 in favor of the local team.
