    Host Canada and Argentina advance to gold medal match in Men’s 2015 Pan American Games

    In thrilling match, Canada beats Brazil in the penalty shoot out to advance to the gold medal match. Taken together with the other semifinal result of Argentina’s 6-0 defeat over Chile, Argentina and Canada advanced to the gold medal match. Chile and Brazil will play in the bronze medal match. Mexico and United States will play for fifth place. In the match for seventh place, Cuba will face Trinidad and Tobago. More

    Argentina and United States advance to gold medal match

    Chile and Canada will play for bronze. Mexico and Uruguay will play for 5th/6th place; while Cuba and the Dominican Republic will play for 7th place. With the competition almost complete, Argentina’s Noel Barrionuevo still leads all scorers with 9 goals, United States’ Kelsey Kolojejchick has 7 goals and Argentina’s Delfina Merino has 6 goals. Argentina has also scored the most goals in the tournament (41). Both Argentina and the United States have yet to be scored upon. More

    Brazil joins usual contenders Argentina, Chile, Canada in Pan Am semifinals

    Typical powerhouses Argentina and Canada cruised their way to the semifinals after winning 12-0 and 3-0 in their quarter-final matches against Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago, respectively. Chile overcame a gritty first half to knock out Cuba, 6-2, to move on, while the most inspiring moments of the tournament go to World No. 37-ranked Brazil who beat the USA 3-1 in shootouts to not only secure a spot in the semis but qualify for the 2016 Olympics.     Ho-Garcia’s four goals lead to Canada’s 8-1 victory over Mexico to secure top of Pool B. In an exciting match, Argentina narrowly beat Cuba 5-4. While the United States earned their first win of the Pan American Games with a 2-1 win over Trinidad and Tobago. Mexico’s Ricardo Garcia was honored for his 100th cap before the match. More

  • Leonas, States top pools entering women’s quarter-finals

    Following three days of women’s pool-play competition at the Pan American Games, hosted Jul. 13-24 in Toronto, Canada, the quarter-final brackets are set. Pool leaders Argentina and USA will cross-over with Cuba and the Dominican Republic, respectively, while middle-of-the-pack results pits Chile against Mexico and hosts Canada against Uruguay. Quarter-finals will take place on 20 July with game times being modified to 9:00, 11:30, 17:00 and 19:30 to allow for the possibility of shoot outs. More
