    Two medals for Pan American teams at Youth Olympic Games  

    The hockey competitions at the 2nd Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, were played in the new “Hockey 5s” format, which proved exciting, high scoring and entertaining for the spectators. Two of the four Pan American teams competing finished on the podium: the Canadian men finished second, while Argentina cleanly beat Japan to bring back the bronze medal on the women’s side. More

    Mauricio Flores Osorio developed a passion for hockey in Chillan, south Chile. He started with only his enthusiasm for the sport, took courses, finally bought his own stick. He had to overcome many obstacles along the way (such as having only five sticks for his first training session with 20 girls) but is now coaching in local schools, universities and the club he created has nearly 200 members, boys and girls.
