World Youth Hockey Panel

Hockey's International Year of the Youth - 2001 marked the beginning of worldwide youth hockey development. Last October during the World Hockey Festival in Hobart, Australia, the National Youth Promoters thought that it was beneficial for world hockey to form a Youth Panel that would help in the promotion of youth hockey all around the world.

The World Youth Hockey Panel was formed with the main objective of helping develop youth hockey worldwide. We think that the Youth Panel shouldn't only help promote hockey in countries that had representation in Hobart (only Argentina and Mexico represented the Americas) but to help every nation member of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

We have several programs that I would like to share with you, but this time I would like to talk to you about our

Pen Pals program.
We would like that the hockey youth connect through this program. A youth layer/fan/supporter can meet another from practically any place in the world and learn about his or her culture, how hockey is run in his or her country, etc. and its a great way to promote and diffuse hockey within the youth. We are aware that not everyone has access to a computer and to the Internet, so the pen pals of this program can communicate by either email or postal mail.

If you know any hockey youngster in your community between ages 13 and 21 that is interested in this pen pals program, please send me the following information: their name, age, email address and/or postal address, and a couple of lines describing their likes and dislikes, hobbies, etc... Send this information to
I hope you can participate in this program and that together we can develop hockey in your community.

This is a permanent program of the Youth Panel, and it has no cost, it is only and exclusively dedicated to promote youth hockey.

If you have any further questions about the program
or the World Youth Hockey Panel,
please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks!
