FIH President reinforces global hockey development vision

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) President, Mr. Tayyab Ikram, attended the 25th Ordinary Congress of the African Hockey Federation (AfHF) held in Ismailia, Egypt, as part of his ongoing commitment to strengthen engagement and development across all regions of the hockey world.

During his visit, President Ikram led a series of discussions with representatives of the AfHF and its National Associations, focusing on advancing the Empowerment and Engagement Strategy — a cornerstone of FIH’s global vision for sustainable growth.
The meetings explored key areas such as infrastructure expansion, Hockey5s pitch installations, development grants, Olympic Solidarity initiatives, and increased participation in international events.

In addition, a dedicated “Meet the FIH President – Empowerment and Engagement” session offered a platform for open dialogue, where National Associations shared their experiences and perspectives on how to strengthen collaboration and maximize development opportunities across the continent.
President Ikram highlighted the importance of long-term planning, continuous engagement, and shared responsibility among all hockey stakeholders to ensure steady progress and lasting impact.

“Meetings like these are not one-time discussions — they represent a continuous process of engagement and follow-up,” said FIH President Mr. Tayyab Ikram. “Through regular dialogue and partnership with our continental and national associations, we can ensure consistent progress and lasting impact for hockey development.”

These efforts are part of a broader vision to connect and empower hockey communities worldwide, ensuring that every region — from Africa to the Americas — benefits from shared knowledge, resources, and opportunities to grow the game at every level.

At the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF), we celebrate this continued commitment to collaboration and inclusion, values that are at the heart of our mission to expand the reach of hockey throughout the Americas.
Together, under the #OneHockeyFamily spirit, we continue building pathways for growth, participation, and excellence across all continents.
